Happy New Year! Ready or not, it's 2026. I'm definitely not ready. The first step in deciding my ambitions for 2026 is to look at how 2025 went. Since 2018, I've played along with Quilting Jetgirl's Planning Party. Yvonne has announced that 2025 is the last year she's going to host the party and the quarterly link ups. Her quarterly check ups have been really helpful at making me look at my goals each year, which usually means I do something on them. I'm not sure that worked so well for 2025. At any ...

It's been hard to wrap my mind around the fact that it's October already. Wasn't it just June? The time went fast, probably because I was busy helping Grad Girl with the transition from student to working woman. She defended her thesis, graduated, moved home, found a job, finished her first quilt top and then moved back Texas. Most of that has happened since June. I didn't spend as much time in the sewing room over those months. Consequently, there was this sinking feeling when Yvonne of Quilting JetGirl posted the Q3 CheckIn.

The end of June is not only mid year, it is the end of the 2nd quarter. When I was working, mid year progress reviews were required. I don't have a supervisor anymore, but Quilting Jetgirl has a linky party up for the 2025 Quilting Q2 Check In, which is a good reminder to check how it's going with my 2025 quilty ambitions.
It's so easy to set your goals at the beginning of the year and just forget about them. I'm guilty of that, but maybe not so much this year. I know what they ...

Hope all the mothers have their kind of day. I'm spending mine with my mom, but won't get to see my girl this year.
I wasn't very motivated this week. Sometimes you just need to do something else. Reading was big on my list of something else for some reason. Even so I still managed at least 15 minutes of stitching stuff each day.

- 15 minute days/May = 10/10 days
- 15 minute days/2025 = 125/130 days

It was a good week on the stitching front. I have a plan for the guild BOM for next year if needed (the tea leaves are reading as yes it will be). And I made good progress on figuring out how to use my walking foot. So it was a full week in the sewing room.
- 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
- 15 minute days/April = 12/12 days
- 15 minute days/2025 = 97/102 days
- Success rate = 95.10%
It's been a productive week. I've gotten lots done in the sewing room and went on my first shop hop. Even being on the road most of the day on Wednesday, I still managed to get my sewing time in.
- 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
- 15 minute days/March = 31/31 days
- 15 minute days/April = 5/5 days
- 15 minute days/2025 = 90/95 days

Happy New Year! A new year needs a new stitching plan. The end of the year is busy, so I've been letting things percolate in my brain a bit before I get serious about writing out my goals for the new year. The year that was 2024 was one of my better sewing years. It's a bit daunting to think about how to improve my performance for the new year. But if I don't plan, I don't achieve. It also helps if I look at my goals more than once after I write them. Thankfully, Yvonne ...

My Guy took Friday off and we went on an adventure. We didn't get home till late, but thankfully there was still enough time to get some stitching in before bedtime.

Is it really November? October seemed to just speed by. With the holidays coming up, I'm sure it will be January before any of us are ready. Even so, I'm hoping to get a bit more done on my projects before the end of the year.
- 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
- 15 minute days/Oct = 31/31 days
- 15 minute days/Nov = 2/2 days
- 15 minute days/2024 = 307/307 days

This is the first weekend I've been home for the entire weekend since mid-September. Our girl's weekend was lots of fun, the drive home from it wasn't. That's the only day I struggled to get in my 15 minutes, but I still managed to make that happen before I went to bed after our long drive back.
- 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
- 15 minute days/Oct = 26/26 days
- 15 minute days/2024 = 300/300 days

With the end of September, also comes the end of the third quarter of 2024. Just three months left in the year! It's a good time to look over what the plan was for this year to see if there are any goals that need some attention. Quilting Jetgirl has a 2024 3rd Quarter Goal review linky party to encourage us to do just that.
We had a family wedding to attend this weekend. It's been awhile since we've seen My Guy's family. It was nice to catch up with everyone. It's always a challenge to get my stitching in when we have events like this.

- 15 minute days/2024 = 258/258 days

Lower temps and lower humidity made for a much more pleasant week. But it's still summer here, true autumn weather is several weeks off for us. It's still much nicer in my sewing room in the afternoon then it is outside. Still easy to maintain my stitching time streak last week.
- 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
- 15 minute days/Sept = 7/7 days
- 15 minute days/2024 = 251/251 days
- Success rate = 100%
We finally got a break in the heat this weekend. Friday was still pretty sultry, but by evening you could feel a cooler breeze blowing. It was chilly enough Saturday for a sweater when we went out for breakfast. It will heat up again, but I'm going to enjoy the chill for as long as we have it.
The heat has been a really good reason to hang out in my sewing room. Makes it easier to keep up with my 15 minute stitching commitment.
- 15 minute days/week = 7/7 day
- 15 minute days/Aug = 31/31 days ...
It's the last Sunday in August. Why does it seem like time speeds up as we get closer to the end of the year? It seems the August went so quickly. There is still one full week left, so it's not completely gone, but boy is it close!
It was another good week to find time to stitch.
- 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
- 15 minute days/Aug = 24/24 days
- 15 minute days/2024 = 237/237 days
- Success rate = 100%
Another week gone already? It feels like just yesterday I wrote the week 32 post and now it's time for week 33. It wasn't the best week on the stitching front. My shoulders are not happy. I've been on Aleve and hot pads for several days this week. It's getting better, but I have to watch my computer and stitching time to allow things to heal.
- 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
- 15 minute days/Aug = 17/17 days
- 15 minute days/2024 = 230/230 days

We had a major cold front hit Friday. Going from the mid 90's at lunch to the mid 70's by dinner was quite the shock. Unfortunately by Saturday lunch, my sinuses decided they didn't like the cooler weather. Not got much done on Saturday, but I got in my 15 minutes. Thankfully I was more productive earlier in the week.
- 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
- 15 minute days/Aug = 10/10 days
- 15 minute days/2024 = 223/223 days
- Success rate = 100%
It's been hot with a few days this week also being insanely humid. The heat alerts have been pretty consistent for the last week or so. The only safe thing to do in the afternoon is sew, so that's pretty much what I've done.
- 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
- 15 minute days/July = 31/31 days
- 15 minute days/Aug = 3/3 days
- 15 minute days/2024 = 216/216 days
